Epidermal Inclusion Cyst-Histology

Description : There is no erosion of the underlying bone since the cyst remains within the subepithelial layer. In this section, the stratified squamous keratinizing epithelium which lines an epidermal inclusion cyst can be seen. The central portion of the cyst is filled with exfoliated keratin squames arranged in laminated layers which resemble an onion. H&E 38x
