Hematoma External Auditory Canal
| Description |
: |
The ear canal is well protected from incidental trauma.
Lacerations are usually self inflicted or the result of ill advised instrumentation.
The skin lining the medial (bony) external canal is particularly thin and in general the skin is thinnest along the floor and anterior wall of the canal.
The use of a cotton tipped applicator in attempted aural cleaning has produced an asymptomatic linear hematoma along the anterior canal wall in this patient |
