Histology of Hematoma External Auditory Canal Skin
| Description |
: |
The thin skin of the bony external canal has an excellent blood supply and is loosely bound to the underlying dermis except at the isthmus and the anulus; therefore, trauma to the skin in this area frequently results in a subepidermal hematoma.
In this case, blood has accumulated between the epidermis and the underlying dermal tissue.
